PwC Romania and its connected law firm in Romania, D&B David şi Baias, provided financial, tax and legal advice on the buy-side in the transaction involving the sale of the majority shares of ROMBAT Bistriţa to South-African based firm Metair International Holdings Cooperatief. The transaction amounts to almost 43 million EUR and it is one of the highest ever recorded in the Romanian automotive sector. Metair was also assisted by the South-African law-firm Taback.

Metair is the main automotive battery producer in South Africa and is engaged in a program for developing “new generations” batteries.
